QFC – Now accepting competitor’s catalinas!
Went to QFC tonight to pick up a few things and I was excited to hear that they are NOW taking competitor’s catalinas! I wasn’t too surprised considering Fred Meyer, also a Kroger store, has also started accepting catalinas with competitor’s logos on them.
I was able to use my $1.25 Safeway catalinas from the California pizza deal at QFC tonight. Two different cashier agreed that this is the new policy, that it is a recent change and that they received a memo about it. I will try and track down the details (and a written coupon policy) from the manager – but as far as I know:
- You CAN use competitor’s catalinas – they must say “Manufacturer coupon” on them
- If the catalina is for MORE than your purchase, the cashier will give you change!
So just to re-cap from recent posts, you CAN now use catalinas with competitor’s logos on them at Fred Meyer, QFC and Walmart!
A catalina is a coupon that prints at the register on receipt-like paper. Generally something in your order will trigger the coupon to print. For example, have you ever bought Huggies before and a coupon for Pampers prints out? That’s intentional marketing.
These catalinas have the Albertsons logo on them, but in fine print along the top they say “Manufacturer cpn” which mean you should be able to use them at QFC
