BORDERS OFFERS GIFT CARDS FOR SCHOOLS. Any shopper making an in-store purchase at a Borders store this weekend, be it a book or even a bagel, will receive a $15 gift card that can be donated to a public school through DonorsChoice.org, an Internet-based charity. The offer is a promotional collaboration between Borders, DonorsChoice and the publisher of a companion book to the movie Waiting for Superman, which offers a harsh portrait of public schools. As part of the promotion, anyone purchasing the book Waiting for Superman also will receive a second $15 card.
