A new beginning
Hi all, welcome to the sound savers blog. Thanks to our own Dr. jen who set this up, and we shall see how adept I become at figuring it out, and blogging. It is definitely a new beginning for me. My one year coupon anniversary is next month, so this is all very exciting. It has been an amazing year, learning to use coupons, saving money, sharing with others, and setting up our local coupon club. From our first meeting in October, with 3 people, to now having 20 on our mailing list, and more inquiring each week. Up next on my list, once I get things caught up, is to make us some business cards for sound savers, so we can all have to pass out to the folks behind us in line, and the cashiers who ask how we save so much, etc... the biggest thrill I have gotten so far from all this is the ability I know have to share with others. Sharing deals, chatting about common interests, making new friends, supporting each other, and sharing my actual food stuffs, household items, and whatever else I have with those less fortunate than my family. Every month my teen aged son and I pick a family off craigslist, or someone we may know even, who is having a hard time, and we gather things they need and share with them. It is a great feeling, and a wonderful lesson to him...we were once in that boat, and several kind folks helped us out. Now we return the kindness. I have actually even shipped 4 boxes to my mom in Ohio these past 2 weeks. Large flat rate, so i can stuff them really good, lol. She passes them to friends having a hard time-especially the glucose meters at her senior center, and the shampoo/ body wash, razors, etc she passes out to her clients..she works in social services with re-uniting families, and works in a very poor area..they are so thankful she says. And the boxes contain items I got for free using coupons. I was especially pleased and thankful to see how we came together as a group and rallied around one of our own, when her family was in a bit of crisis, with one being in the hospital, and we all contributed to their grocery needs, shopped for them, and were a great support group. That was my hope in all this from the very beginning, a new support system for us all, not just with couponing, but with each other...and I am happy and thrilled to say, we have made it!!! So......look for more blogs as I figure all this out..and stay tuned.....................

ReplyDeleteFrom your Wyoming coupon buddy I wanted to say I am so proud of your hard work in learning "the game" in such a short time and not only that but the concept of "passing it forward". Blessings to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the next year ahead of couponing.
